When a learner completes a response, the interaction updates dedicated variables—such as clabsInteractionResponseStatus and custom scoring variables. Storyline triggers detect these changes and take immediate action, such as displaying a feedback layer or adjusting the learner's score.

How do I prevent the AI from hallucinating or answering off-topic questions?

You upload reference material (PDF, Word, or text files up to 15MB) directly into the interaction's knowledge base and set clear system instructions. The system instructs the AI to rely exclusively on the uploaded context and decline to answer unrelated questions, ensuring learners stay focused on the learning objectives.

Can learners use their voice, or is interaction limited to typing?

Learners can do both. You can enable microphone input so learners speak their responses aloud, and enable speech synthesis so the AI character speaks back. Learners can also type in a chat box, making the interaction accessible in quiet office settings or on devices without microphones.

Can the AI score open-ended responses and send results to our LMS?

Yes. You can configure the AI to evaluate learner responses against a detailed rubric and assign a numerical score or pass/fail rating. Because this score is stored in a native Storyline number variable, you can assign it to a Storyline Quiz Result slide and report it to your LMS via SCORM or xAPI.

Do learners need to create an AI account or log in?

No. Learners access the interaction directly through your published course without logging in or creating third-party AI accounts. All processing occurs securely through your Cluelabs account.

Can I customize the visual appearance of the chat interface?

Yes. With Web Mode, you have full access to the interaction's index.html, style.css, and script.js files. You can adjust colors, fonts, avatar images, button styles, and layout to match your course branding.
