Learning and Development Case Study
Our case study today focuses on a prominent organization operating within the Real Estate sector, which we shall refer to as “Company X” to safeguard its privacy. Due to an identified need among its workforce, Company X sought to develop an online course focused on Advanced Transaction Negotiation Techniques, specifically tailored for its Commercial Real Estate Agent employees. The initiative aimed not only to enhance the employees’ skills set but also measure their engagement and comprehension levels. Key metrics earmarked for capture included scores in quizzes/tests directly related to negotiation techniques, post-course comprehension evaluation of transaction negotiation concepts, and feedback rate after completion of the training.
Standard Learning Management Systems (LMS) tend to focus more on the delivery of course content and basic metrics such as completion rates and time spent on the course. They lack the in-depth assessment infrastructure to effectively capture more specialized metrics like quiz or test scores directly related to particular negotiation techniques. Furthermore, they may not be capable of accurately assessing post-course comprehension of transaction negotiation concepts as their inbuilt analytical tools are not designed for such complex analysis. Standard LMS platforms also often overlook feedback rates after completion of training, focusing instead on tracking the learners’ progress. These systems’ generalized structure means they may not be tailored to meet specific evaluation needs, such as the ones needed by commercial real estate agents in their advanced transaction negotiation techniques course.
The key to solving this problem was the Google Sheets eLearning Widget. This tool allowed for the recording and storage of data meant to evaluate the employees’ performance during the online course. Scores, test results, and feedback could be directly captured from the eLearning course and saved in Google Sheets. The tool also allowed for tracking the learning progress, logging each step taken by the learner with the option to record and analyze learner actions within the course. Additionally, the tool facilitated tracking custom variables such as learner choices and path decisions, offering a comprehensive understanding of the learner’s journey and interaction with the course. This data was stored in an easy-to-read format making it accessible for analysis and evaluation.
Case Study Outcome
In the end, the results of this case study proved significantly successful. Implementing the Google Sheets eLearning Widget helped Company X capture nuanced metrics about employee course engagement beyond what’s possible with standard Learning Management Systems. The tool enabled them to log detailed data about learners’ scores, progress, interactions, responses, and even unique choices made throughout the course. This wealth of comprehensible information at their fingertips, not only helped Company X tailor their course for enhanced effectiveness but also improved their understanding of employees’ learning patterns. This case study showcases the power of innovative tech integration for modernizing workforce training and unlocking more insightful, data-driven decision making.
