Is there a way to pull variable information from the PDF back into a new Storyline file?

I'm trying to create a PDF Blog that will pull information from text variables on 6 different courses. I've tried using the widget with the variables set from each course but it only pulls through the text variable information from the course you are working on. It doesn't save the text variable info from any previous courses. It just overwrites those variables as it believes they are blank from this course. Is there a way for the text variable info on each course to be reported back to Storyline i.e. set the text variables from the previous course at the beginning of the next course so that it saves ALL information? Or would this be better to use the Google Sheets widget?

I've never heard of variables in a PDF document, but I could be wrong of course. I think using Sheets should do it for you. You can always filter the sheet rows by user or other data.
